Your cue…see red, but you won’t, at least where the food is concerned. Oriental food at a different level….Yaki (grills)- Zushi (a type of sushi). Interiors are pleasantly highlighted in red and black. The old 120 year house has been retained as it was…each room..Love, peace, harmony and bamboo presenting a semi private dining experience.
Tables are draped in black with red hemmed table cloths, the wrought iron chairs and the artifacts give it an oriental charm. Crockery and serving dishes have been thoughtfully provided to suit the presentation of each preparation. The menu is an interesting read of Soups, Starters, Dimsum, Sushi, Teppanyaki, Thai curry, Chinese, Rice, Noodles and Dessert. So take time to browse through it carefully to look out for the combos…. Opt for an Oriental choice or be adventurous with Japanese.
The prawn salt pepper @ Rs 350. 10 King sized prawns in onion, garlic and freshly ground pepper…spiced to perfection. A potato in honey sesame @ Rs 165/- children’s favorite and for those who do not like spiced dishes. A focus on the meal… The Sushi- the Philadelphia Rolls @ Rs 350/- a must order… There is also the ‘inspired’ Prawn sushi @ Rs 350/- with crispy tempura top and the cooked prawns do nothing to detract from the taste. Thumbs up to this innovation!
If you are adventurous carry on with the Japanese flavors. The Beef teppanyaki @ Rs 550/-. Order that with The Yaki Meshi @ Rs 350/- The portions seem good enough for 2 moderate eaters. All ingredients are imported…Chinese cabbage, mushrooms, broccoli are great accompaniments to the dish. Or opt for the Oriental meal.
