One of Goa’s most beloved Asian Kitchen restaurants, Yaki Zushi has welcomed guests to enjoy its authentic pan-Asian cuisine, warm hospitality, and unparalleled service at its re-designed heritage Goan home in Sangolda, since it opened in 2015.

Switching from the traditional menu of A Lua Sangolda, Chef Amory D’Souza’s vibrant and exquisite new menu consists of the best sushi in Goa and elegant dishes soaked in oriental flavours.

Using the freshest ingredients from their home-grown kitchen garden, Yaki Zushi maintains a high level of quality in the food they serve by importing the finest ingredients, including awase-zu rice, which is what most forms of sushi call for.

With the best pan-Asian cuisine and a 70-seater heritage property in the quaint village of Sangolda, Yaki Zushi gives guests a perfect melange of Goa and Japan.

Meet the Team

The Chef

Oriental cuisine specialist Amory D’Souza got into the hospitality business thanks to his dad who started A Lua 25 years ago.

After pursuing his B.Sc. and Hospitality & Hotel Administration in Bangalore, Amory began working as a management trainee for Taj in Panjim. While working as a chef de partie at Tamari, a Pan Asian restaurant at Taj, he handled the Japanese, Thai and Indonesian sections. It is there where he was inspired to start his own South East Asian Restaurant.

He quit his job at the Taj on 31st July 2015 and opened Yaki Zushi a day later.

To those unsure about whether Sushi is palatable, Amory makes it a point to talk to every customer and find out whether they are new to the cuisine. To first timers, he offers recommendations about dishes he knows they will like. He’s also happy to assist experienced sushi eaters oriental cuisine fans.
